I have been saddened, by the behaviour, attitudes, and actions of many White Conservative Christians, during the Clinton's, and Bush’s administrations and the current Obama’s administration.

I know some persons who read my comments here, may label me a racist, especially because I am Black. I hope however readers, if it is at all possible, just forget my ethnicity for a while, and view my comments as those being made by a person with an Evangelical Christian bias.

History tells us that the West plundered in the past, almost every corner of the earth for its economic gain and growth. Even today, it still utilises a greater part of the world resources. History also bears record also that in the midst of such capital greed and selfishness, there were always men and women, who in their honest pursuit of God took up causes, for the betterment of their fellowmen. It was mainly as a result of their efforts; society was compelled to seek social justice. Many of those men and women were ethnic Caucasians. Whether they were of German, Dutch, French, Portuguese, Spanish, English or some other origin, they all strove to live out the two greatest commandments;

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God,… and love thy neighbour as thyself”.

Their love for their fellowmen drove them around the world to spread the Gospel of Good News. They evidenced the effects of their spiritual, new birth through acts of love and kindness. The ‘Gospel’ they preached, was accepted, because of the lives they lived. Many sermons were lived rather than spoken. The unconverted marvelled when they saw the missionaries’ good works, and glorified their Father in Heaven. The foregoing are the results of effective Christian witnessing.

American White Conservative Christians boast of their morality. They claim that, unlike other American Christians, their doctrine and preaching is sound. They claim that America is unique to all other nations, except perhaps Israel, and that it is God's city set upon a hilltop. They claim to know the mind and the will of God for their country. They claim to be examples of good citizenry. They claim that they have the answers to the questions of what constitutes good governance, and feel that they should be consulted by the nation’s politicians and leaders on national policy. Excellent!

The world outside of America, have heard these claims too; and they watch the Conservatives to see if the claims are true.

Now, if those Christian Conservatives are what they have claimed to be, the United States of America and the world at large, which is aided and influenced by it, would be better. The world is looking for and loves great examples. The world is looking for the White American Conservatives’ Christ, they claim to represent.

What the world saw however, during the Clinton's administration, and what it sees now, is that these Christians will stoop to any ungodly political means possible, to advance their causes.  What the world sees is that they would seek to influence and change the world not by passionate prayer, but rather through powerful political alliances and economic connections. Further, what the world sees is that these Christians see nothing wrong with the absence of civility, or lack of compassion, or hatred, or racism, so long as it is directed against the people, they think, God loathes.

This is what the world thinks: had the Christian Conservatives been true Christians, the US 2000 Elections final results would have been different. Those Christians would have accepted the fact that Al Gore won, even if, they were persuaded, that President Bush would have made a better President.

The world thinks that had the Christian Conservatives been true Christians, they would have dealt with President Clinton's sin differently. They would have rebuked him in love, instead of smeared and tarnish his image in the international community. Such love might have him and the heart of his family. Such actions would have impacted and earned even the grudging respect of the left. Such actions would have changed some of the most heart-hardened liberals. 

Were these Conservatives truly Christians … I can go on and on.  I cannot help but add, had they been truly Christian, they would have known that the Iraqi invasion was wrong. True Christians, the world feels, have prophetic insight, unlike their ungodly counterparts. If the Conservatives had used such insight, they would have known that the premise on which the war was started was false. They would have known that immense sadness and destruction that it would bring to the Iraqi people. Their prophetic insight coupled with Christian love, would have made compelled them, to impress upon the ‘Christian Conservative President’ George W. Bush to change his mind.

Currently, these Conservatives show us that their Christianity apparently behooves them to show disdain and contempt for the Obama's administration. They wage war like their ungodly counterparts do, using crude pieces of cardboard with nasty messages. They associate KKK-like sympathizers if it can achieve their end. They consider Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck, as mouthpieces championing the cause of God.

The Right currently throws around the label ‘Fascist’, at President Obama and his administration. The rest of the world throws this label at the Conservatives, ‘Hypocrites'.

C. H. Spurgeon once said that, when a man is proud, God and man unite to pull him down. To borrow from C. H. Spurgeon, I say, when a Christian is a hypocrite, God and man conspire to expose him. The revelations of late, of the sexual sins within the ranks of the Right is proof of this.

The contradiction between the Christian Conservative claims, and their walk hampers the delivery of Gospel in many Muslim lands. The people who hear the Gospel sneer at it; since it appears to them, that the righteousness of the ‘Right’ rarely exceeds the righteousness of the ‘Jihadist’. Thus, the gospel preached is ineffective because of the Christian witness. The world longs to see the Christian Conservatives be the Christian church it claims to be.

My personal wish is that some White person, who speaks truth, and walk in truth, will rise up in the midst of the Conservative movement and call things as he sees it. It takes someone within the ranks to speak to the rest in the ranks.  I hope that such a person would be able to convince the Conservatives of the futility in fighting the enemy without, while the fighting and the winning of the war within.

Yes, Christian Conservatives take America back!  Yes, you must war for America's destiny; yes, you must passionately and violently oppose all those who seek to pauperiseyour country. Yes, you must war against anything that will prevent the USA from fulfilling God's purposes for it as a nation. However, this taking back, this fighting, whatever you call it, must be done God's way and with godly weaponry. Carnal weapons will never achieve a spiritual end. 

It is my fervent prayer that you White Christian Conservatives, in whom, so much is invested will see your weaknesses and sins, and truly repent, and then give the world a true demonstration of the power and love of God.
